INTO THE DARKNESS
Helena, the little Danish girl ran playfully through the forest, on the outskirts of her village. It was late Autumn in the Scandinavian woodlands, and already, the leaves had changed their colours, and now littered the ground. It was around this time when the first snowflakes began to fall, and little Helena wanted to be outside to enjoy the last of the autumn breeze, before hibernating herself in her family’s hut for the long winter months ahead. Her mother however, had warned her not to stray too far into the forest, or she would lose her way, and something dark would drag her back into it’s hole. But as with most children, Helena did not heed her mother’s warning, and went further and further into the woods. Helena continued running past the white-barked trees, and continued on until she stopped from being out of breathe. Once Helena had caught up with her breathing, a chilling dread washed over her. The forest was dark and silent. There were no birds singing, nor insects chirping,
